Here's the car just before we tore it down for powder coating.
We went to the IRA show during the Kenosha County Fair and won the
50-50 raffle! I made an apointment at J&J on the following Monday!!!
Here's the chassis with a fresh coat of powder thanks to Joe Kristan and the rest of the gang at J&J Powder Coating This was Sat. 9/10/05. We've got 7 days to make the Lake Geneva Show! Both Pop and I called Geneva our home track. We wanted to show the car there first!

While Dad and I were reassembling the chassis My good friend Tony
Kautz was fine tuning the body panels. We got the paint to him on
Sunday and had painted panels on Wednesday! Not only was Tony
very quick to get this job done, he did a high class job as well!! Thanks
Tony!
Amazingly enough everything came together Friday night and was ready
for final assemble! I burned the midnight oil but finally called it quits at
about 2 am. Got back at it again Saturday morning at 8am! Short night
but much was left to finish.
Butch popped in after getting his car loaded and ready to roll. Tony
stopped by with a few painted parts and spent the rest of the day helping
with the finishing touches!! We loaded the car at 3:30pm and rolled in at
the track about 4:30. I can't thank my Dad and these 2 guy's enough for
all the effort that day!!!
As you can see by the dated pictures, we made the show at Lake Geneva! 4 of us parked in the grandstand area and another 6 cars stayed in the pits and ran their cars. The 66 car is Butch Potter, son of Claude Potter. The blue and white Vicky bodied car is Ed Maeder. He ran this car around Wilmot in the early 80's. Last but not least is the A3 of Johnny Reimer. Johnnies nephew, MJ Both proudly displayed his uncles famous ride!

After thumbing through Bill Barty's old
autograph book and finding my
Grandfathers signature, I just knew I
had to get it on the car some how! Pop
never had his name on this car so
finding just the right place to lay down
the vinyl copy of his "John Henry" was
a bit of a challenge! As you can see, it
appears that Pop just leaned in from
the right side and signed the dash!
Seeing his signature there for the first
time was abit emotional for me. Wish
he could have been here to sign it in
person! We're sure he'd be proud!!
Thursday night we snuck some panels
in at the graphics shop.
