| Looks like I'll go first!! Being the first guy to create a note on one of these in the factory, I must admit, this horn was awesome even in raw brass!! I've thought about having a horn of this caliber for the last two years, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to get the chance to play one! As you can hear by the wav file attached to the opening page, the American Heritage Field Trumpet is a dream come true! I sat for an hour and a half waiting for my call to sound Taps. The horn still allowed me to play as if I had just warmed up! Crisp, Clean, and Clear. What an awesome tool to honor American Veteran's!!! Thanks to Tom Getzen Dreams do come true!!! | Sir, Received my new Getzen American Heritage Field Trumpet yesterday. It is simply beautiful. Got it just in time to play a small memorial service at the local firemen's monument last night. As a tuba player, I never felt like a real bugler while playing Taps on my used Conn director. That changed last night, I actually felt like a bugler, even if I needed to use the G slide! The precise etching of the bell with the BAA logo serves as a reminder of the mission, as well as a way to open an explanation of the organization to others. Thank you for all your efforts in making this horn possible. It is well worth the cost to have a quality, American made instrument to honor our veterans and our country. | Mr. Erikson, I placed an order with Getzen on Sept. 4th. Monday afternoon, the 22nd, I received my new field trumpet. I have played trumpet for many years and have worked with veteran's groups and funeral homes since 1989 and have never had a bugle. After joining BAA about a year and a half ago, I began looking in earnest for a good bugle. What I found was junk. I have not been able to locate a buglecraft brand and was just about to order the Amati when I e mailed you reguarding the Getzen. I purchased the M2003 and everything about this far exceeds my expectations. Fit and Finish-excellent. The BAA logo really blew me away (I did not expect it to be stamped/engraved-I thought it might even be just a decal!) Weight and balance-just right! Tone and intonation-again, excellent. The case supplied with the instrument was much better than what I expected. Thanks to you, Jari, Tom Day and to Getzen for delivering such a great product. I have not used it in a public ceremony yet, but look forward to doing so soon. As soon as I get a chance to use it, I will e mail you a photo. Again, thank you for taking time to answer my questions and point me in this direction. Donald Galyean BAA Winston-Salem, NC |
| Hey Guy's, It's arrived! It's beautiful! It's going to get played on a mission tomorrow morning for the first time, my 101st since joining BAA! My new M2003S has serial # GE 1002. Call me nuts, but like a kid on Christmas morn I wouldn't sign for it until I unwrapped the box, got it out and played it in Bb (not my normal key, I like G) right in front of a startled UPS driver! It played absolutely PERFECT!! As it turned out, the UPS driver played a bugle years ago in Boy Scouts. I gave him one of my cards and he promised to look on the web site and maybe sign up. Thank you Tom Day, Dano and Tom Getzen. I love you all!!!!!!! Keep the lamp lit! Ross Medos State Director for BAA MI |
