Ray Dropp raced with the IRA in the 70's.  He even spent a few years as the club President in the mid 70's!  Ray
was a tough competitor, always a threat to win.   Ray made national news in the race papers with a photo of his
upside down mount in the middle of the Lake Geneva Raceway front shoot.  Seems Ray was lightening up the
car pretty good that year and used a piece of aluminium discarded by the Highway department. It was an old
"Wrong Way" sign.  He put the old writing face down figuring no one would ever see it.  Imagine the crowds
surprise as an upside down Modified slid by with the words "Wrong Way" prominently displayed!
Ray tells me that the 77
Championship Manzardo car
was assembled in his garage
pictured at left!
Here's the start of the sister car
that Ray personally campaigned in
the late 70's
