As many of you know, I'm absolutly sold on GR Mouthpiece Technologies! I have a GR piece for every one of my horns! The same MPC I used in my Amati works
just great in the new Getzen American Heritage Field Trumpet!!
I've had a few conversations with Gary on the subject of cold weather playing, and how plastic may fit into the big picture! Let's protect our chops!!
Gary thought he could combine the best of both worlds.
His unique programing and world class equipment went to work and crafted the piece I have pictured above!!! I was absolutly amazed at the seem between metal
and plastic!! Sliding your finger across the two materials you'll find absolutly no ridge!!! As I oohed and aaaahed over the piece he had in his display rack Gary
quitely step over to his equipment and started to show me just how this ultra custom piece was built. The phone rang as Gary finished! He handed me the piece
and said "Try This!" I waited for him to finish his phone coversation with Doc Severinsen before I tested the piece.
Guess I'm not the only one who knows about Gary's high quality gear!! Ha Ha!! Gary knew I used a GR 66VC for my Amati, so thats exactly what he cut!! I was
amazed at how identically it played to it's all Brass cousin!!
Tomorrow after work it goes in the freezer!! I'll keep you posted!!

Here is another option for the cold weather player! Jim Kelly has started building all plastic pieces for those who play on
standard Bach style cups. He has pieces in sizes 1C, 3C, 5C, 7C, and 11C. He also can do custom work! Click on the

Freezer Test results!!! One word - UNBELIEVABLE!!!! After 20 hrs. in the freezer the mouthpiece came out looking like a
frosty mug! She was pretty chilly TOO!! I was absolutly shocked at how well the plastic rim insulated my chops from the brass
base. I could feel the cold radiate from the brass section of the mouth piece at first, but the rim was extremely comfortable from
first contact!!
The State of Wisconsin's Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove has already requested me to sound Taps for a Veterans Day
Ceremony! I'll have this MPC ready to go just incase it's snowing around here by then!!
Again, my hat's off to Gary Radtke!! These new pieces will definitely reduce a buglers anxiety about cold weather playing!!!
